The FTI Festival kicks off on October 16, 2026! For an entire month, Flanders will be all about technology and innovation, across 8 cities and at more than 100 events. When you say “innovation”, you definitely can’t skip over the Flemish university associations. TTO Flanders is therefore closely involved in shaping the program’s content.
For three weeks, the Flemish universities and the universities of applied sciences and arts will showcase their latest innovations at the national FTI Festival at the Nekkerhal in Mechelen. We’ll highlight recent inventions and spin-off companies, as well as ongoing research projects that have a strong chance of making the world more sustainable, efficient, and beautiful. TTO Flanders handles part of the coordination for the universities, ensuring that we deliver the most cutting-edge innovations.
In addition, all universities are individually involved in organizing the seven city festivals. From October 16 through November 15, 2026, various cities will host their own festival activities, all centered around new Flemish technologies that amaze, excite, and inspire.
